There are many ways to get about St Petersburg, the Metro, Trams and Trolleybuses (unreliable - but cheap), Private buses or Taxis (expensive).
Or you can try the Minibuses. Take an ancient Transit type minibus (these are actually Russian GAZ make, but seem to have bought the old body presses from Ford Transits). Be sure to get one that cannot pass another MOT test and then licence it for fee-paying passengers.
Be sure NEVER to repair or service it, get as many dents in it as you can, and fill it with twice as many people as there are seats provided.
Oh, and it seems to be illegal to wash any vehicles in SPB - Ten minutes with a wet sponge will probably earn you 10years in a labour camp. Enjoy, we had a very hair-raising ride across town.
